Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift is a pop/country singer-songwriter for over 20 years. The stories she tells of her teenage love and heartbreaks have gained her widespread popularity within the 21st century. Swift was a fan of music since a young time. She swiftly made her way up the ranks, beginning by playing roles in the theater for children and eventually singing before crowds of people. Swift was only 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. The following year, she began writing songs, and also took up guitar. Swift was inspired by artists from the country genre, such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and now the Chicks to come up with original songs which reflected the alienation she felt at the age 13. As a teenager, Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania to move into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time pursuing country music labels within the vicinity of Nashville.
